To create awareness about HIV/AIDS amongst the young generartion is still the need of the Country, because HIV/AIDS is a serious health problem in India. In view of this our club decided to form Red Ribbon Club [RRC] in different villages of Daund taluka and neghibouring villages of other Taluka in collaboration with Ashwood Memorial Hospital. So Nimgaon Khaloo and Kawtha which are on the other of Bhima river in ahmednagar district were selected for this project. The youths of these both villages are enthusiastic and have interest in social work. Accordigly to celebrate the INTERNATIONAL YOUTH DAY we decided to form these two clubs . More than 29 young boys were gathered at 7.00 pm in hotel Amol at Nimgaon Khaloo which is owned by Young Dnyaneshwar Kolase who sponsored the complete event. Roterian Archana Gojamgunde ,Director of Youth Services Avenue welcomed all and introduced about the function.presiident Dr. Philemon pawar explained the purpose of RRC and gave a very informative speech and plan of action to both the clubs for one complete year. Roterian Shalini Pawar explained the need of awareness of HIV/AIDs and how to support thses persons in the community.She told three true stories of HIV infected and affected families and motivated the young boys to work in this area. Secretary Prashant Bamb thanked to all specialy to Roterian Navnath GORE and Amir sheikh, Hanumant Parakale from KAwatha,rahul Poland Ganesh Jogdand of Angar,and Dnyneshwar Kolase from Nimgaon. The main objective of RRC is to involve young boys in the HIV /AIDS awareness campaign of the community so that before entering the very vuolnerable age group they are made aware of the risks of the HIV infection and thus their lives will be saved. Another object is to develop positive and caring attitude towards PLHA in the community. In addition to this purpose these RRC members are given guiadance and knowledge of various health issues and to make plans accordingly.following are the health issuses and action plans. 1. Haemoglobin Detection of adolescent girls and women. 2. Diabetes detection and awareness program. 3. 40 plus camps for women. 4. General health camps. 5. Eye check up and distribution of glasses to senior citizens. 6. Rubella Vaccination for the girls of age 11 to 19 These programs will be supported by RC Daund.
